Ping Pong's Puppet Workshop

Steve & Marty's 2006 - Page 4

November found us restoring a 60 year old Clippo the clown puppet for a client, and the little guy came out swell, I must say. The mother, whose puppet it had been as a child, wept tears of happiness to see him restored to his original look.

Once again, Steve, with the encouragement of his folks, threw himself into decorating and designing the new Christmas lights and displays for both houses. A new small show of The Little Engine That Could was developed for Joel, as well as some new puppet characters, and off we go onto Thanksgiving, which by the way, was Steve and Marty's 28th together. Another new sound recording was completed for Trails and Tails, this time Christmas at the Beach, a beary merry rendition of the old 'Twas the Night Before classic, and yet a few more touch ups and set designs completed for Joel.

Candace, in the meantime, began sculpting with Steve, as they both created the new puppet heads of Enchantra the Witch, and the Queen of Hearts, starting two of the five puppet make overs for the filming. All the while Marty was doing test filming with the new equipment, and I must say we were totally taken aback at the mirror effects in the new Queen of Hearts set, and the real garden feeling in the second scene.

December brought the rest of the decorating of the houses, the new green screen computer programs and equipment, and its testing, and our improved DVD-burning programs. Steve even got a flat computer screen for Christmas, and Marty more computer memory to better run his new editing programs.

New Year's Eve was a night of bad mixed drinks and some dancing to old tunes but a fun time actually in one of Portland's nightclubs and now it's on to the new year with hopes of finishing the film come summer.

So you can probably see why we are whipped at the moment. I hope you enjoyed our journey as we set out into some new horizons, with new friends, old family members reunited, and some new dreams beginning to show the fruits of past labors.

We hope you enjoyed this ramble through our year 2006, and we hope that 2007 will be the best year ever for everybody.
