We dream a dream that these beautiful
characters can come out of the
basement. see the light of day and
stand before the camera once again.
Here's wishing on a star.
Seven 36-inch tall major characters were developed, each
taking on the rock songs with some live children dancing
and making it their own. Fourty-four backup singers from
disco ants to singing bullfrogs were created.
Over a year and a half of production went into
creating this vision from sets to scripts to music to puppets
and kids. A hectic two week shooting schedule on Long
Island brought the project to rehearsing and filming.
As sometimes happens in real life --disaster soon struck the
Primetime Pictures, Inc. crew and the project. I am extremely
saddened to report, as I wipe the tears from my eyes, that
this extrordinary kids project never made it to market.
Conflicting artistic visions, finances, and the reality of the true
scope of the project swamped our New York counterparts.
Rockin' Ralphie and several of his rock star
friends returned home to the Olde World Puppet
Theatre, coming out for special events like The
Incredible Wonderful World of Puppets at
OMSI and other museum exibits. Will Rockin'
Ralphie, Brody and friends ever make another
kids rock video? Well, only time can tell.
